Freedom of Expression Week Symposium

Freedom of Expression Week Symposium

A week-long series of thought-provoking sessions designed to foster a deeper understanding of freedom of expression for faculty, staff and students.

Join us October 19 through October 22, 2026.

Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» students, faculty, staff and entire classes are encouraged to participate in our third annual Freedom of Expression Week Symposium events. Each day of the week offers one or more thought-provoking sessions that dive deep on timely topics, including:

  • Freedom of expression
  • The importance of diversity of thought in democratic discourse
  • The need for civil dialogue around conflicting perspectives, especially in a university setting
  • Real-world perspectives on the right to freedom of expression in America

The symposium’s goal is to generate a deeper understanding of freedom of expression—particularly in a university setting—and to facilitate meaningful discussions across our campus community.

Our event hosts include the Division of Student Affairs and Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³».
