{"id":143,"date":"2025-09-01T00:00:09","date_gmt":"2025-09-01T04:00:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.adelphi.edu\/safety-transportation\/?page_id=143"},"modified":"2025-09-01T00:00:09","modified_gmt":"2025-09-01T04:00:09","slug":"emergency-notifications-and-alerts","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.adelphi.edu\/safety-transportation\/clery-act\/emergency-notifications-and-alerts\/","title":{"rendered":"Emergency Notifications &amp; Alerts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ utilizes two different methods of campus alerts \u2014 Timely Warning \/ Safety Alert and Emergency Notification \u2014 to help keep students, staff, and faculty informed about threats to their health and safety.<\/p>\n<table style=\"border-collapse: collapse; width: 100%;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<th><\/th>\n<th>Emergency Notification<\/th>\n<th>Timely Warning<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>Scope<\/strong><\/td>\n<td>Wide focus on any significant emergency or dangerous situation (may include Clery Act crimes).<\/td>\n<td>Narrow focus on only Clery Act Crimes; Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ reviews non-clery act crimes on a case-by-case basis.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>Why<\/strong><\/td>\n<td>Triggered by an event that is occurring or is imminently threatening the campus. Initiate emergency notification procedures for any significant emergency or dangerous situation occurring on the campus involving an immediate threat to the health or safety of students or employees.<\/td>\n<td>Triggered by crimes that have already occurred but represent an ongoing threat. Issue a timely warning for any Clery Act crime committed on your Clery Act geography that is reported to your campus security or local law enforcement, and that is considered to represent a serious or continuing threat to students and employees.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>Where<\/strong><\/td>\n<td>Applies to situations that occur on the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ campus or centers.<\/td>\n<td>Applies to crimes that occur anywhere on Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Clery Act Geography.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>When<\/strong><\/td>\n<td>Initiate procedures immediately upon confirmation that a dangerous situation or emergency exists or threatens.<\/td>\n<td>Issue a warning as soon as pertinent information is available.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ utilizes two different methods of campus alerts \u2014 Timely Warning \/ Safety Alert and Emergency Notification \u2014 to help keep students, staff, and faculty informed about threats to their health and safety.
