Our policies and procedures are designed to support that learning.<\/p>\n<h2>Understanding the Academic Integrity Violation Reporting Process<\/h2>\n<p>Learn how to navigate the new academic integrity violation reporting process with this <a href=\"https:\/\/scribehow.com\/o\/AUGa5tNcQamxGkWL8bFFwA\/page\/New_Academic_Integrity_Policy_Steps_and_Guidelines__axExFW5oQ9GkHrrwftPSvA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">step-by-step walkthrough<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Overview of the 2026 Academic Integrity Policy Revision\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ARMydDoxRyk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3>Who does this process apply to?<\/h3>\n<p>All graduate and undergraduate course-based academic work.<\/p>\n<h3>Who can file a report?<\/h3>\n<p>Usually, the instructor of record, but also other faculty or staff who oversee assessments may submit reports.<\/p>\n<h3>How does the reporting process work?<\/h3>\n<p>An Academic Integrity Violation Report has four parts:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cm.maxient.com\/reportingform.php?Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­Univ&amp;layout_id=27\">Part One: Instructor Submission<\/a><strong>:<\/strong> The process begins when an instructor suspects a violation of the Code of Academic Integrity. The instructor starts a report in the <a href=\"https:\/\/cm.maxient.com\/reportingform.php?Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­Univ&amp;layout_id=27\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maxient<\/a> case management system, describes the conduct or assignment in question, and attaches any supporting evidence.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Part Two: Integrity Officer\/Student Conduct Review:<\/strong> After the report has been reviewed by the Integrity Officer and revised by the reporting faculty member, when needed, it is reviewed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adelphi.edu\/provost\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2026\/08\/Referred-and-nonreferred-final-August-2026.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to these criteria<\/a> to decide whether the student reported would face university suspension or expulsion from the university, if found responsible for the violation, and considering any prior academic integrity offenses. If the Integrity Officer and Student Conduct Officer decide the student would potentially face these sanctions, the case is transferred to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adelphi.edu\/conduct\/\">Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards<\/a> for investigation under the provisions specified in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adelphi.edu\/policies\/conduct\/\">Code of Conduct<\/a>. All other cases follow the procedure below.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cm.maxient.com\/reportingform.php?Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­Univ&amp;layout_id=28\">Part Three: Student Response<\/a><strong>:<\/strong> After Part Two has concluded, the student is notified by email and given five business days to respond in writing. Students should monitor their email for official communication from the Integrity Officer that will provide official notice and instructions on how the process functions and their responsibilities. Students are given the opportunity to have an Academic Integrity Advocate advise them throughout this process. <em>Participation in this process is strongly encouraged.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cm.maxient.com\/reportingform.php?Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­Univ&amp;layout_id=31\">Part Four: Instructor Determination<\/a><strong>:<\/strong> Once the student submits Part Three, or when the deadline expires, the instructor is prompted to complete Part Four. In this final step, the instructor reviews all information and determines whether the student\u2019s conduct violated the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adelphi.edu\/policies\/academic-integrity\/\">Code of Academic Integrity<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Grade Penalties and University Sanctions<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>If the instructor finds the student responsible for a violation (of academic integrity), he or she will impose the course grade penalty described in Part One. See <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adelphi.edu\/provost\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/12\/Violation-categories-and-suggested-course-penalties-F25.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general guidelines for course grade penalties<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>After Part Four is submitted, additional educational sanctions may be applied.
