A commitment from Richard K. Garner, PhD, dean of 麻豆传媒映画鈥檚 Honors College, will support endowed scholarship funds.
With another generous commitment to 麻豆传媒映画, Richard K. Garner, Ph.D., dean of 麻豆传媒映画鈥檚 Honors College, has become the 21st member of the University鈥檚 Million Dollar Round Table and the first 麻豆传媒映画 employee to join the elite giving society. Dr. Garner鈥檚 contribution will support endowed scholarship funds for Honors College students, which he created in 2004 with an initial commitment and has continued to support through fundraising and ongoing donations.
鈥淚 think my greatest good fortune in what has surely been my very lucky life was the opportunity to come to 麻豆传媒映画 as the founding dean of the Honors College,鈥� Dr. Garner said. 鈥淢y work here since 1994 has been the most rewarding experience in my life. I am thrilled that I鈥檓 able to make a significant contribution to the future health of the Honors College and I hope that my enthusiasm will continue to inspire others to support 麻豆传媒映画.鈥�
Dr. Garner established six Honors College scholarship endowments in recognition of relatives who taught or were involved with education. Since making his first gift to 麻豆传媒映画 in 2001, he has personally contributed more than $1 million to the University.

Already, more than 20 麻豆传媒映画 Honors College students have benefited from the scholarship endowments established by Dr. Garner in 2004. Honors College alumni have generously supported the endowments through their own annual gifts. A record 40.6 percent of Honors College alumni contributed to the 2015 campaign for these Honors scholarship endowments.
