Personal Statement

I received my PhD from the University of Paris in 1972. I joined Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» in 1974. My PhD dissertationon the crisis of authority in the Catholic Church was published in 1975, and updated in a new edition in 2006.

I taught for two years at the Catholic University of Peru, in Lima, Peru, and one year at the National University of Taiwan, in Taipei, Taiwan, as a Fulbright scholar.

I have also published a book on Catholic divorce (2000), and one on spirituality (Feminist Voices of Spirituality, 1996). In 2006 published an edited volume on God images in our lives, with the Mellen Press

I retired in August 2008, but will be teaching one course per semester. I continue my research on Catholic decline and renewal in the United States. I edit www.CatholicBooksReview.org, posting about 100-120 book reviews per year.

I am available for talks about Catholic renewal.
